Value Addition and its impact on career

Should we not choose a career path where we can add some value? I feel YES, very strongly. And then the question remains where all, we can add value? Certainly not in many areas. How do we choose this or these few areas where we may contribute positively and hence add value to it. Some important parameters are :

  1. Individual and collective interest and career goal
  2. Available resources and exposure
  3. Expertise (skill, Education, training etc..)
  4. Family set up and encouragement
  5. Family business history or career path followed
  6. Financial situation & Risk taking Ability
  7. Physical well being
  8. General surroundings and Eco system
  9. Decision making capacity and Freedom
  10. Psychological bend or personality trait
  11. Friend circle and support
  12. Spiritual Attainment and moral fibre

Can all these be assessed in a laboratory? Some standard tests (DISC type) do exist. Can it be more realistic based on scientific laboratory test. Huge challenges exist. Our endeavour in life should be to focus on some areas , develop expertise and capabilities and just commit to make it big. Innovation and creativity and special individual entrepreneurial idea plays a big role in adding value and deciding on to follow that career path.
